Join us for an exciting hub and spoke adventure tour hosted at SolidRide's high-alpine base camp, nestled at the foot of the Mosquito Range at 11,000 feet. Embark on a journey that offers an exciting blend of paved, dirt/gravel, and easy to moderate off-road terrains, traversing three mountain passes.

This exclusive on-TV tour includes accommodations, hosted meals, and professionally trained tour directors with more than thirty years of off-road riding experience. Accommodation options include double occupancy bunk room or premium glamping tents, specially designed for high-alpine conditions, ensuring comfort and an authentic outdoor experience. Experience three mountain passes and traverse a variety of on-road and unpaved routes, each presenting breathtaking landscapes, and moments that will linger long in your memory.

We are delighted to announce that Ken Faught, special guest from Off-Road Travel TV and former editor-in-chief of Dirt Rider, will be joining us to capture the journey on camera for inclusion in Season 2 of their network television series. Please note, all customers of this tour are required to sign a an additional media release for Off-Road Travel TV.

Route Highlights

This high-alpine adventure motorcycle tour is just over 300 miles and explores the Rocky Mountain Mosquito Range. Experience iconic mountain passes including Boreas Pass and Weston Pass, and ride through the Historic Midland Tunnels along the Arkansas River. Expect a variety of terrain including paved, gravel/dirt, and sections of unmaintained dirt roads (moderate off-road). The highest elevation along the route is 11,921 feet at the top of Weston Pass. Booking Prerequisites

  • Experienced Intermediate through Expert adventure bike riders are welcome. We will traverse a variety of terrain including dirt/gravel backroads and easy to moderate 2-track off-road trails. Expect unmaintained conditions including chunky gravel, potholes, ruts, and bumps. Depending on weather conditions, large puddles and/or small water crossings are possible. We ride rain or shine. If you are a newly intermediate rider with limited off-road experience, this tour may not be a good fit for you.
  • A registered street-legal adventure or dual sport motorcycle setup for off-road riding with at least 50/50 tires is required. Due to the elevation changes on this tour, electronic fuel injection or smart carburetor is required. You will receive an pre-ride equipment check-list when you book your tour.
  • All riders are required to hold valid and active motorcycle and medical insurance policies. Purchasing additional travel insurance is strongly recommended.
  • If you rent a motorcycle, a valid rental agreement and minimum state required liability insurance is required.

How to Get Here

SolidRide Base Camp is located between Alma and Fairplay at 11,000 feet in the heart of Colorado’s Mosquito Range. After your final payment is confirmed, approximately 45 days prior to your tour start date, a Customer Arrival Sheet will be emailed to you which will include the final address, check-in details, and third-party ground transfer information.

    Are accommodations included in the tour price?

    No, we do not include accommodations in the SolidRide tour booking price, but we provide you with the total approximate cost of the tour including the third-party hotel fees. We've negotiated exclusive hotel rates which need to be booked through our private booking links in step 2 of the registration process. The third-party hotel inclusions are communicated on the tour registration page.

    Can I book my own hotel and accommodations?

    Yes, participants have the option to arrange their own lodging at any hotel of their choosing, at their own cost. Please note that guests selecting alternate accommodations will forfeit any amenities and services provided directly by Origin Hotel in the third-party booking fee. All participants must arrive at the designated staging area on time each morning to join the guided tour; latecomers will not be waited for and run the risk of missing the tour departure.

    Do you rent motorcycles?

    No, we do not rent motorcycles directly through SolidRide, but we can help facilitate the process with Colorado Motorcycle Adventures. When requesting a tour quote we will ask you if you need help with a motorcycle rental.

    Can I bring my own motorcycle?

    Yes, you can bring your own motorcycle. We welcome street-legal dual sport and adventure motorcycles setup for off-road riding. We will communicate the recommended motorcycle on the tour registration page. All riders will be required to complete a motorcycle equipment checklist before the tour.

    • Larger fuel tank (3 gallons or more)
    • DOT off-road capable tire (in good condition)
    • Small rack/pouch or soft panniers to carry water/snacks, layers, and extra fuel (if required)

    Do I need a motorcycle license?

    Yes, a current and active motorcycle license or endorsement is required to book a motorcycle tour.

    What rider experience level is required?

    We support intermediate to expert motorcycle riders with experience riding on paved mountain passes, dirt/gravel roads and unmaintained two track roads. The experience-level required for the tour will be communicated on the booking page.

    What is the tour group size?

    We specialize in small group tours with a minimum of 2 riders and a maximum of 8 riders. Our average group size is between 4 and 6 riders.

    Are your tour guides experienced?

    Our crew brings more than 30 years of off-road riding experience and professional training from NOLS, Red Cross, and the International Guide Academy.

    Is food included in the tour price?

    We generally include some or all food with our multi-day tours. Some single day tours may not include food. Please check the tour registration page for details on what is included or excluded in the price.
