What type of motorcycle is recommended to ride Colorado's Scenic Byways?
Colorado’s Scenic Byways can support a wide range of motorcycles. Nineteen (18) of the byways are fully-paved and can be ridden on any motorcycle setup for high-altitude riding. Seven of Colorado’s Scenic byways include a mix of paved, gravel, dirt, and possible off-road conditions. For those routes, we recommend riding a dual sport or adventure motorcycle setup for off-road riding.

- Fuel-Injected or Smart Carburetor
- Larger fuel tank (3 gallon or more)
- Rack/pouch or soft panniers to carry gear, water, and extra fuel
What experience level is required to ride Colorado's Scenic Byways?
Colorado Scenic Byways support rider experiences from intermediate to advanced. When booking a tour with SolidRide, the recommended experience-level for the tour will be communicated on the registration page.
