What type of motorcycle is recommended?

We recommend riding a mid-size dual sport motorcycle with a longer-range fuel capacity or a small adventure bike setup for off-road riding. Many of our routes can be ridden on a larger adventure bikes (900+ CC), but we do not suggest it unless you are an experienced rider with advanced off-road experience.

Equipment checklist:

  • Dual sport or small adventure bike setup for off-road riding (300 – 700 CC)
  • Fuel-Injected or Smart Carburetor
  • Larger fuel tank (3 gallon or more)
  • DOT off-road capable tire (no less than 50/50)
  • Small rack/pouch or soft panniers to carry gear or extra fuel

What experience level is required to book a tour?

We support intermediate to expert motorcycle riders with experience riding on dirt/gravel roads and off-road trails. The experience-level required for the tour will be communicated on the booking page.

Do I need a motorcycles license or endorsement?

Yes, a current and active motorcycle license or endorsement is required to book a motorcycle tour.

Do you rent motorcyles?

We do not rent motorcycles at this time, but we are partnered with various rental shops in Colorado. You can also rent a motorcycle on Twisted Road and RidersShare.

Where is base camp located?

Our base camp is located in Park County, Colorado between Fairplay and Alma at 11,000 feet.

Can I ride or trailer my bike to base camp?

Yes, you can ride or trailer your motorcycle to base camp. There is parking for small motorcycle trailers. Please contact us if you plan to tow a large or long trailer. If you decide to ride, please note that traveling over unpaved dirt/gravel roads is required to reach base camp.

How many guests can you accommodate at base camp?

Our base camp includes 3 bed rooms and 2 full bathrooms. We have 2 king beds and 1 queen over a queen adult sized bunk bed. We also have a full sized Japanese-style floor futon. In addition to our base camp location, we have access to our neighboring property that includes 1 bed room plus a loft. We can comfortably host 4-5 riders at base camp and 2-3 riders at our neighboring property.

Our base camp location is great for private group tours as well as solo riders that are comfortable staying in hostel or bunk style facility.
